The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), which says it represents 70 million traders, will hold burnings of Chinese products across the country on March 19 to "teach China a lesson", India's Economic Times reported Friday.

"With China having blocked our bid to designate Masood Azhar a global terrorist, the question on every Indian's mind is, what was the use of all the swinging with Modi and President Xi", the Congress said on its official Twitter handle. But US and European officials say they are waiting to see if the crackdown is effective or if the militants' infrastructure will spring back to life once global pressure on Islamabad subsides.

France, along with the United States and Britain, proposed the move to name Azhar a global terrorist after India mounted a diplomatic offensive to put pressure on Pakistan to act against militant groups following the February 14 suicide attack that killed 40 paramilitaries in Kashmir - the deadliest such incident in 30 years.

India has expressed disappointment over China's decision but said it will "pursue all available avenues" to bring to justice terrorist leaders involved in attack on Indians.

PA reaffirms East Jerusalem part of occupied Palestinian territories
All of the entrances to the Temple Mount were ordered closed following the attack to enable police to search for weapons. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas denounced the "dangerous Israeli escalation" and warned of "serious repercussions".

"The time has come when China should suffer due to its proximity with Pakistan", CAIT said in a statement. "Bow to Xi in China". "Also raises serious questions about the benefits of Modi's photo-op diplomacy with Xi Jinping", tweeted Sadanand Dhume from American Enterprise Institute.

A day after the veto, China has started explaining the move.

China has twice blocked - in 2016 and 2017 - attempts to impose sanctions on the JeM leader.

The prime minister added: "We can not serve our country by overturning a democratic decision of the British people. Theresa May has claimed she still understands the voice of the country on Brexit despite losing her own.

Referring to India's first Prime Minister's "infamous" letter to chief ministers dated August 2, 1955, the senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said it was Nehru who said India taking China's place in the United Nation's Security Council (UNSC) would be "very unfair for a great country like China".

China said it needed "more time to conduct a thorough, in-depth investigation" on the matter of listing Masood Azhar as a global terrorist.

"Our views on Jaish-e-Mohammad and its founder are well known".

Leading the effort, France asserted that it has always been by India's side in the fight against terrorism.

John Vandemoor, a former Stanford University sailing coach, is also scheduled to plead guilty to racketeering conspiracy charges. Ms Huffman and Ms Loughlin were due to appear in Federal Court in Los Angeles later on Tuesday, prosecutors said.

"We already stressed China's position on the listing of terrorist organisations and individuals in the UN Security Council 1267 Committee on many occasions".
