Democratic voters: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez 'is the candidate of the future'

The companies owned by Saikat Chakrabarti appear to have been established for the sole goal of hiding how the political donations were used, the Washington Examiner reported.

"In a normal situation, if all you saw was a PAC that disbursed hundreds of thousands of dollars to an affiliated entity to pay the salaries of people who were really working for the PAC, that looks [like] a PAC that takes in money to engage in political activity but is actually enriching its owners", Adav Noti, a former Federal Election Commission lawyer who is now chief of staff of the Campaign Legal Center, told the Post. "I can't even begin to disentangle that. Get ready for her because she's coming", she added. The PACs claimed the payments were for "strategic consulting".

The FEC complaint asserts that Chakrabarti established two PACs, the Brand New Congress PAC and Justice Democrats PAC, and then systematically transferred more than $885,000 in contributions received by those PACs to the Brand New Campaign LLC and the Brand New Congress LLC - companies that, unlike PACs, are exempt from reporting all of their significant expenditures. One of the thoughts among pundits was that the moment Bernie Sanders entered the race, the very popular Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would quickly endorse his candidacy. Sen. He did not mention that it would also free candidates from the responsibility of disclosure.

"Ocasio-Cortez was recruited to run by Justice Democrats in early 2017 and was trained at weekend "boot camps" in the fundamentals of electoral campaigning and progressive policy", the group stated in a November 6 release, boasting about her victory.
