It was reported earlier this week that the Raptors had offered Lowry and center Jonas Valanciunas to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Mike Conley and Marc Gasol.

The Toronto Raptors has acquired Marc Gasol in a blockbuster deal.

Gasol, 34, is on contract for $21.1 million (U.S.) this season with a player option worth $25.5 million next year. The Raptors (39-16) currently sit in second place in the Eastern Conference standings and are in win-now mode with no guarantee Kawhi Leonard re-signs this offseason. Memphis even sat Gasol during last night's game against Minnesota as the two sides discussed the framework of the deal.

For a fevered few minutes there on Thursday afternoon, it looked like the National Basketball Association trade deadline music would stop and Masai Ujiri would still be looking for a chair.

Cavaliers trade Hood to Blazers for 2 players, 2 picks
Stauskas and Baldwin have expiring contracts, which will allow the Cavaliers to clear more salary-cap space to pursue free agents. The Portland Trail Blazers have acquired Rodney Hood from the Cleveland Cavaliers , in a move that became official on Monday.

While averaging just under 19 minutes a game this season, Valanciunas, 26, has posted a career-high 12.8 points per game, and pulls down 7.2 rebounds per contest.

"That's our goal and I think everybody on the team understands that and we'll keep trying to achieve that goal".

In addition to trading Gasol, the Grizzlies traded Garrett Temple and JaMychal Green to the Los Angeles Clippers in a separate deadline-day deal, according to ESPN. The 2013 NBA Defensive Player of the Year has career averages of 15.2 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.5 blocks, while twice being named to the All-NBA team.

Jonas Valanciunas had been sidelined since December 12 (Dec. 13, PHL time) with a dislocated left thumb.

Bud Light's Super Bowl campaign called out competitors that use corn syrup - and the corn lobby is not happy about it. Both Miller and Coors use it in their beers, while Bud Light uses rice. "It was a marketing ploy, I get that".

Gasol also has a highly-decorated worldwide career as a member of the Spanish National Team, where he has played for Raptors assistant coach Sergio Scariolo.

Considering he is on a better, more well-rounded team now, it is possible we will see Gasol's overall production take a dip, though he will undoubtedly be a vital part of the Raptors for the remainder of the season.

Miles, in his 14th campaign, has struggled with the Raptors this season.

Miles, 31, is averaging 5.5 points and 1.7 rebounds this season.
