Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, involved in vehicle crash near Sandringham Estate

Britain's lack of an upper age limit for driving was in the spotlight on Friday (Jan 18) as 97-year-old Prince Philip recovered after being involved in an accident that flipped his auto.

Buckingham Palace says Prince Philip the husband of Queen Elizabeth II had been in a traffic accident and is not injured.

Prince Philip has had a brand new replacement Land Rover delivered just hours after he was involved in a crash near to Sandringham.

Two women were reported to have been in the other vehicle and received "minor injuries", but Warne told Radio 4 that there was also a baby in the second auto. There was a baby in the back seat screaming.

While the first official statement confirmed he was not injured and had been examined by a doctor, a later update revealed that he was taken to hospital on Friday morning as a precaution. "We are aware of the public interest in this case, however, as with any other investigation it would be inappropriate to speculate on the causes of the collision until an investigation is carried out", a police statement said.
