Tuesday's results: IN 131, Phoenix 97; Philadelphia 149, Minnesota 107; Atlanta 142, Oklahoma City 126; Milwaukee 124, Miami 86; Golden State 142, Denver 111; L.A. Lakers 107, Chicago 100.

Kevin Durant (right) sparks the Warriors' hot start against the Nuggets on the way to reclaiming the West top seed. Big man Nikola Jokic struggled with early foul trouble, finishing with 17 points and eight assists in 23 minutes. Here are the good, the bad and the ugly from Tuesday's loss. But sometimes there's just not a lot you can do when you're up against a juggernaut like Golden State.

The Warriors won by 31-points, but that can not take away from the type of season that the Nuggets are having.

Denver entered the night with the best record in the West, just a half-game ahead of the Warriors. "It's just one game". Failing doesn't come much bigger than that, even if only for a night. There was a stretch in the game when he was going straight at Draymond Green and proving exactly why he is regarded as one of the best players in the league. He has scored 30-or-more points in three of the last four games.

It was the kind of casually soul-destroying performance that makes it seem as though they can do this whenever they choose.

Chelsea agree Higuain loan from Juventus
Higuain would be a great addition to Sarri's squad and his role could possibly help the team qualify to the UCL next year. Chelsea's preference is said to be a permanent deal and they would apparently be looking for £45m.

These two met back in October and Denver got a 100-98 win.

Jokic turned the ball over on the first play of the game - which led to a Kevin Durant basket - and from there, the flood gates opened.

The NBA season is back so let's wager on these games!

According to ESPN, Stats & Information, the 51-first quarter points the Warriors scored on Tuesday night are the second-highest point tally in any quarter in franchise history, second only to the 57 they scored in the third quarter of a game against the Sacramento Kings in 1989.

The old mark for an opening quarter was 50 points, by several teams.

Duke Tops Florida State With Last-Second Cam Reddish Buzzer-Beater
Savoy made a pair of free throws with 15.8 seconds left, just seconds after forcing a turnover, to put Florida State ahead 78-76. Duke was without Cam Reddish who sat out due to illness and Tre Jones left the game early in the first half with an injury.

Kevin Durant sizzled early, firing a flawless 7-of-7 for 17 points and 5 assists in the 1st quarter on the way to finishing with 27 points on top of 4 rebounds and 6 assists.

The Warriors are 4-0 this season when scoring 140-or-more points. The Warriors led 51-38 after the quarter. Curry (8-for-13) and Thompson (5-for-8) combined to sink 13 3-pointers and they each scored a game-high 31 points.

John Collins led Atlanta with 26 points - setting a tone as he made his first 11 shots on the way to connecting on 12 of 14 from the field.

Warriors "big three" of Curry, Durant and Klay Thompson notched up 89 points between them, in a game that saw Golden State set a new National Basketball Association record for points scored in one quarter.

There were plenty of reasons that Denver lost, but the Nuggets did a awful job in running shooters out of their spots, fighting through picks and keeping their hands up - and the Warriors made them pay.
