Sam Darnold approved Adam Gase hire by Jets

Mike Francesa opened Thursday's show by reacting to the Jets' hiring of Adam Gase as head coach. McCarthy made his intentions clear, according to ESPN, saying that he only wanted to coach the New York Jets in 2019 and since he won't be getting that job, he's going to wait for 2020 before seeking another gig.

There were some questions about how experienced Rhule's staff would be, which led to some concerns on the Jets' side, NFL Network and the New York Daily News reported. The 60-year-old Williams served as the Browns defensive coordinator for 2017-18 before taking over for the deposed Hue Jackson.
