Justin Fields is officially gone.

Justin Fields, now former quarterback for Georgia, confirms he is transferring to Ohio State. God has blessed me with an opportunity to achieve another dream. Ohio State won both contests.

The NFL Draft begins on April 25 in Nashville, Tennessee. Freshman tight end Luke Ford also announced that he would be transferring, as he will head to IL.

Fields helped give Georgia coach Kirby Smart the nation's top-rated signing class a year ago. Fields was the overall No. 2 national prospect in the 2018 recruiting class and was highly sought after he announced his intention to transfer last month.

Day has been with the program as a quarterback coach and offensive coordinator since 2017. As Thamel points out, this NCAA rule of an act of egregious behavior at a previous institution would make Fields immediately eligible for the upcoming season.

There's no timetable for a ruling on Fields' eligibility. Sasser was dismissed from the UGA baseball team after the incident.
