Kevin Spacey asks to skip MA court appearance

Spacey says in documents received by the Nantucket District Court on Monday that he's pleading not guilty and believes he should be excused from appearing at his January 7 arraignment.

But Judge Thomas Barrett denied Spacey's request.

Looks like Kevin Spacey is showing no sign of stopping the provocation of public disapproval.

If Spacey is found guilty of the charges he could serve up to five years in prison or 2.5-year term at a house of correction as well as added to the sex offender registry.

Kevin Spacey must turn up at a forthcoming court hearing in MA, a judge ruled on Monday, after the actor requested that he be allowed to avoid appearing in person when he faces criminal charges that he sexually assaulted an 18-year-old man at a bar in 2016.

The complainant's mother, former TV news anchor Heather Unruh, said in a 2017 news conference that Spacey had bought her son "drink after drink after drink" and had "made his move" when the boy was drunk.

Cape and Islands Assistant District Attorney Michael Giardino wrote that Spacey's appearance is required under state rules for criminal case procedure.

It is has also been claimed that the alleged victim lied about his age.
