Saturday night's episode of "SNL", the last new show of 2018, saw Alec Baldwin return to the show to play the president in a sketch that spoofed the movie "It's a Wonderful Life", showing Trump what would have happened if he hadn't won the 2016 election. But I doubt Trump would be happy about those developments, since they are largely about him inspiring people to oppose him.

The NBC variety show kicked off its holiday show Saturday night with Alec Baldwin's Donald Trump playing the George Bailey role and getting to see what it would be like if he were never elected president.

Baldwin now does his impression almost every Saturday night, including this past weekend, when he took part in a reimagined "It's a Wonderful Life" for a segment that took aim at Trump. "Collusion?" the real Trump tweeted on Sunday.

Japan protests Russian military build-up on island disputed since Second World War
Japan will also increase its order for F-35A jets, which take off and land on conventional runways, to 105, the government said. The measure emphasizes Japan's need to counter potential threats from North Korea and China as it enlarges its navy.

In a spoof of festive classic It's a Wonderful Life, the sketch saw Trump visit a world where he had never become USA president, resulting in his staff leading much happier lives. His press secretary Sarah Sanders, played by Aidy Bryant, now did public relations for Facebook, dating site Ashley Madison and "the romaine lettuce association".

"Wow, everyone looks so different", Baldwin's Trump said.

While the sketch offered many insights into the troubling workings of the President, it missed one key point.

Drone sightings ground planes at major British airport
Under British legislation, drones can not be flown near aircraft or airports, or at an altitude of over 400 feet (122 metres). The statement read: "Due to drone activity on the airfield at Gatwick, all arriving and departing flights are now suspended".

The sketch also featured comedian Kate McKinnon as president Hillary Clinton, Robert De Niro as special counsel Robert Mueller and Ben Stiller as former Trump attorney Michael Cohen.

Earlier, he took specific aim at Baldwin's impersonation of him, calling it an "agony for those forced to watch".
