Canelo has enjoyed great success at middleweight but now faces a real challenge as he steps up to take on "regular" belt-holder Rocky Fielding in NY.

Canelo Alvarez (51-1-2, 35 KOs) made quick work of former Super Middleweight WBA regular titlist Rocky Fielding (27-2, 15 KOs) on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from Madison Square Garden.

Alvarez, who won his rematch with Gennady Golovkin in September to claim ownership of the middleweight division, has wasted no time in climbing back into the ring.

Google Announces New $1 Billion Manhattan Campus In Hudson Square
On Thursday, Apple announced that it'll build a new $ 1 billion campus in Austin, Texas , as part of an expansion across the US. The company will expand by leasing buildings at 550 Washington Street and at 315 and 345 Hudson Street in the West Village.

The Oscar De La Hoya-promoted fighter is making his debut at the Garden and is heading into 54th fight in a career that has just one defeat, at the hands of Floyd Mayweather Jnr, and two draws.

Round 1 - Fielding took a body shot with about a minute left in the first round and he went down to a knee but was back up to finish the round. "For me, it's a bittersweet moment to talk about pay-per-view being dead because my career was built on pay-per-view, but this digital platform is thinking about the fans, it's thinking about the consumers".

The fight card was streamed on DAZN, a service that paid Alvarez $365 million for 11 fights. But that was nothing new for Fielding, who was a heavy underdog when he captured his title last July by stopping Tyron Zeuge, of Germany, in Germany.

Restaurant explosion injures at least 42 in Japan
The city government had opened at shelter to house dozens of people whose homes were damaged in the blast. It is still unclear what caused the blast, but a local witness suggested it was triggered by a gas leak.

The worst of it, predictably, came in the abbreviated third as Alvarez picked Fielding off with one body shot after another thrown with poise and dumbfounding accuracy.

"Regarding the fights we'll see in the future, like I said, I'm all willing to make a third fight, " Canelo said. "Every punch I landed to the body, I felt that it affected him", Canelo said. Fielding fell to the canvas in each of the opening rounds but bravely fought on.

"As soon as the call came, I fancied it and I knew Rocky would jump at the chance to test himself. I have no doubt that he'll be successful in this fight". It was his second try at a world championship; his lone loss came in an attempt to win the WBC "Silver" title against Callum Smith (November 2015), as he was stopped in the first round. "If a fighter feels comfortable that he will win easily, against a guy who no-one knows, it can be very unsafe". The referee mercifully waved off the match to crown Canelo the new WBA champion at Super Middleweight.

Palestinian said killed by Israeli fire during West Bank protests
After he failed to do so, he ran towards two Border Police officers who were stationed nearby and tried to stab them as well. The troops have installed concrete blocks on the road, and restricted the movement of Palestinian vehicles.

Round 3 - more hard shots from Alvarez to start the round. While Fielding did bring the secondary title belt to Saturday's affair that allowed the promoters to dress it up as a bid for history, the 31-year-old was clearly handpicked as a soft touch to make Alvarez look good.
