Sixers' Markelle Fultz Drawing Interest? Guard's Days In Philly May Be Numbered

Fultz was the first overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.

Fultz, through agent Raymond Brothers, informed the team last week he wouldn't participate in games or practices until cleared by a shoulder specialist. After a wild rookie year filled with controversy and injuries, the days of Fultz being a dominant point guard seem long gone. The team believes it will have to rely more heavily on McConnell because of the uncertainty surrounding Markelle Fultz.

76ers guard Markelle Fultz is the subject of trade talks between Philadelphia and the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to reports.

Trading Fultz for Korver would make sense then, especially as they have similar salaries for this season and next season when Korver's deal expires. "For now, however, Fultz is still around the team as if nothing has changed except his playing time". He also told ESPN last week that he has not requested a trade from the 76ers on behalf of his client.

Fultz is averaging 8.2 points and 3.1 assists this season, but shooting just 42 percent from the field, including 29 percent from 3-point range.

But it has not satisfied judges in lower courts, who have issued injunctions to keep the current policy in place. However, the subject matter seems to be without precedent, meaning it's ripe for a Supreme Court review.


After that game, when questioned about his decision to turn to T.J. McConnell over Fultz during the second half, coach Brett Brown didn't commit to either player as his backup point guard.
