Chitwood said Ramos allegedly believed his mother was dead and went to get a wheel barrow to retrieve her body, but when he returned he noticed she was still alive and strangled her again.

The teen is charged with first-degree pre-meditated murder and will be held in the Juvenile Detention Center for the next 21 days because he is a minor.

Ramos then teamed up with his close friends from University High School, Dylan Ceglarek and Brian Porras, both 17, to make it seem as though Cleavenger was killed during a break-in.

There are reports that the boy strangled his Mom after a fight about his grades.

Ramos confessed to using a wheelbarrow to move Gail's body into the family van and then drove to River City Church 1.5 miles away where he buried her in a fire pit.

A GoFundMe page has been started for Cleavenger. Sheriff Mike Chitwood described Ramos as one of the "top three sociopaths" he has ever encountered.

At some point during conversations with investigators the teen confessed to carrying out the murder and staging the burglary with the two other teens.

Chitwood named the defendants and showed their mugshots, but Law&Crime is not identifying them because they are minors, and it is unclear if they will be charged as adults.

In his police confession, Ramos told how he had argued with his mother on Thursday evening after getting a D grade at school.

The son entered her room about 12:30 a.m. Friday, investigators said.

"I have a feeling this is a case we'll be hearing about for years to come", he said.

Officials with the Sheriff's Office said the 15-year-old called 911 Friday, claiming to have found his home burglarized, his mother nowhere to be found and her auto running. "All our hearts break for this family", Chitwood tweeted on Saturday.

Deputies also recovered a shovel and broom used to bury Cleavenger and straighten up the scene around the fire pit. "She was such a small lady", Turner said.

"The case we worked tonight was one of the most disturbing and saddest I've seen in my career".
