"And I want you to know that their blood has seeped into my DNA, and I refuse to let their sacrifices be in vain". Black voters comprise about 30 percent of the electorate and whites 60 percent - figures similar to recent elections.

Starting last week, in collaboration with our allies at PowerPAC, PFAW began running a hard-hitting, Spanish-language television ad unmasking Brian Kemp's attacks on public education and his support for Donald Trump's divisive agenda. The citizen made his findings available late last week to the state Democratic Party and to an attorney who flagged the concern to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and to Kemp's office.

In particular, the plaintiffs said the "political nature" of Kemp's "baseless accusations" in the press release "Democrats Under Investigation for Failed Hacking Attempt, Cyber Crimes" are why the lawsuit is necessary.

"They're both really strict on something I care about, which is abortion and social conservatism", Wallace said.

They say an email to them from a man not affiliated with the Democratic Party of Georgia is what prompted Kemp's request for an investigation.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Brian Kemp still leads the Secretary of State's office despite being a candidate for governor. The ruling said allowing these people to vote was in the public's best interest.

Democrat Stacey Abrams campaigned in Savannah and other southeast Georgia cities, while volunteers at her campaign office in East Point made phone calls to encourage voters to get to the polls.

Edgardo Cortés, Virginia's former elections commissioner who is now an election security adviser for the Brennan Center for Justice, told the AJC that Sunday's announcement was "bizarre" and said the timing of it is "problematic". A representative for the Department of Homeland Security confirmed the agency had been notified, but it deferred to Georgia officials for details.

Actor Will Ferrell also campaigned for Abrams alongside his wife Viveca Paulin-Ferrell. The party published two emails that purport to show a private individual who pointed out potential vulnerabilities in systems used by Georgia residents to print sample ballots and registration information that the individual suggested could allow a hacker to steal or manipulate registration information. As Secretary of State, Kemp has backed strict ID requirements.

Citing a potential conflict of interest, Democrats, including former President Jimmy Carter, have unsuccessfully appealed for Kemp to step aside as secretary of state until after the election.

According to AP interviews and records released by the Georgia Democratic Party, a lawyer for election-security advocates, David Cross, notified both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Kemp's counsel Saturday that a citizen had alerted him to the flaw. They seek to rally greater numbers of young voters and minorities, who typically favor Democrats but often sit out elections in non-presidential years.
