Should that happen, the WWE will have to replace two stars, not just one, thanks to its controversial decision to stick it out in Saudi Arabia.

"Crown Jewel" is the second event this year staged by WWE in Saudi Arabia as part of its partnership with a nation with a history of human rights abuses.

There has been widespread pressure on the company to pull out of doing the show following the murder of Washington Post columnist and Virginia resident Jamal Khashoggi inside the Saudi consulate in Turkey four weeks ago.

The special counsel's office says it was alerted to the matter by journalists following up on e-mails from the woman. Burkman declined to say if he was working with Surefire.

WWE used a storyline explaining that the 16-time world champion was axed from the tournament because Acting RAW General Manager Baron Corbin was impressed with the beating Lashley laid out on Finn Balor and thought he deserved a spot more than Cena, who never underwent a qualifying match.

The prominent journalist was murdered in Saudi Arabia's consulate in Istanbul where he went to obtain an official document that would allow him to get married earlier this month. In its prior statement on the issue, the WWE had said, "As always, we maintain an open line of communication with our performers and will address each situation accordingly". Hogan had been reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame back in July, following a three-year ban from the company.

Crown Jewel, which is set to take place at Riyadh's King Saud University Stadium, is also scheduled to feature several of the company's other high-profile legends.

WWE has operated in the Middle East for almost 20 years and has developed a sizeable and dedicated fan base.

On a serious note, obviously The New Day will have their match to regain the SmackDown Tag Team Championships from The Bar at Crown Jewel.

Meanwhile, Hogan told The Orlando Sentinel how excited he is to join the WWE in Saudi Arabia.

A big development ahead of Crown Jewel.
