Late, late show: Dodgers beat Red Sox in longest Series game

A fan yawns before the start of the 17th inning in Game 3 of the World Series baseball game between the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday in Los Angeles. They played and played and played, for 18 frames spanning seven hours and 20 minutes, during which too many insanely absurd things transpired to mention here lest this article take seven hours. Baseball is wonderful and awful.

Jansen, the Dodgers' closer, gave up a home run to Bradley that tied the score and the Red Sox took advantage of Scott Alexander's errant toss to first to score a run in the 13th, but the Dodgers used a throwing error by Kinsler to tie the score, 2-2, in the home half of the frame.

Muncy connected off Nathan Eovaldi, who was in his seventh inning of relief.

It was the first game-ending home run in a World Series game at Dodger Stadium since 1988, when a hobbled Kirk Gibson won Game 1 in the ninth inning againstthe Oakland Athletics. The benched quartet included the Dodgers' top four home-run hitters.

The 29-year-old surpassed fellow Indian batting great Sachin Tendulkar , who first crossed the mark in 259 innings in 2001. He put on 139 runs for the third wicket with Ambati Rayudu, who made 73.

"All I know is we're feeling pretty good about ourselves right now, to have two more games at home, but right now our focus is (Saturday)", he said.

We'll update with more ratings from last night's historic Game 3 and the rest of the primetime offerings later as they come in.

At 36, Kinsler's hardly the player he was in his prime, but the former Gold Glover has always been one of the league's best defenders at second base.

Los Angeles fans are seeing a silver lining to the Dodgers' 0-2 World Series start. "I want to see it still on at 5 a.m. and watch the teams openly crying having to take the field".

It's very hard to solve the tactical problem without an improvement in the defensive phase of these three midfielders. He's improving but also he needs to improve the defensive phase.

Neither team got much going in the 12th - no surprise for a game dominated by pitching. With two out, a runner on second and the Red Sox clinging to a one-run lead, Yasiel Puig hit a slow roller toward Kinsler. The Red Sox were 9-0 this postseason when scoring first - which is every game in the ALDS, ALCS and the first two games of this series.

Ian Kinsler is tagged out at the plate by Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes while trying to score the go-ahead run on a fly ball by Eduardo Nunez in the 10th inning. "But like I told him, he's like, 'I'm not coming out.' I said, 'Well, you can't come out".

The blown save spoiled a brilliant outing from Dodgers rookie right-hander Walker Buehler, who gave up just two hits over seven scoreless innings.

The Dodgers munched on peanut butter and banana sandwiches provided by a team employee, and hung the bananas to produce fruitful luck - harkening back to the rally banana credited by Enrique Hernandez for helping end a 35-inning scoreless streak three years ago.

Then I made a video showing off some of the most interesting stuff from those 25 hours, with only the lightest spoilers. Raw graphics are one thing, but running smoothly is another, and Xbox One X seems to take the Frito pie there as well.

But the Red Sox were only in position to extend the game thanks to Eovaldi's heroics. Alexander fielded Nunez's tapper between the mound and first base, but his throw to a hustling Hernandez got away and Holt scored.
