European nations should take a joint stance on whether to halt arms exports to Saudi Arabia over the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, German Economy Minister Peter Altmaier said on Monday.

CNN's source, the Turkish official, said Khashoggi's clothes "were probably still warm when Madani put them on".

The latest account, provided by a Saudi official who requested anonymity, includes details on how the team of 15 Saudi nationals sent to confront Mr Khashoggi on Oct 2 had threatened him with being drugged and kidnapped, then killed him in a chokehold when he resisted.

Trump told the Post that "something will take place" in response to Khashoggi's death, but said the United States should not let the incident disrupt a possible $110 billion weapons sale to Riyadh he announced previous year.

Former foreign secretary Boris Johnson said Britain should "refuse to turn a blind eye" to the death of the dissident journalist and pressure Saudi Arabia into ending the brutal civil war in Yemen.

Saudi Arabia last week admitted that the critic had died in the consulate after "discussions" turned into "a brawl and a fist fight".

CNN has obtained exclusive law enforcement surveillance footage, part of the Turkish government's investigation, that appears to show the man leaving the consulate by the back door, wearing Khashoggi's clothes, a fake beard, and glasses.

"They're two young guys". Madani then emerges wearing the same plaid shirt. The probe has also taken them to the town of Yalova, some 90km from Istanbul. It was unclear if any of the workers were direct witnesses to the incident.

He said: "They made the mistake when they killed Jamal Khashoggi in the consulate and they tried to cover up for it".

The comments came during a rare public interview with Mr Kushner, who is married to the U.S. president's daughter Ivanka Trump, as world leaders and ministers continued to demand more clarity from the Saudi leadership.

A summary of Saudi's response to news of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who was killed at the kingdom's Istanbul consulate. Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said on Fox News on Sunday that Khashoggi's killing was "a rogue operation" and that "we don't know where the body is'".

When asked whether the body had been cut up - and where it was - al-Jubeir said his government was working with Turkey to find out.

Trump suggests rogue killers murdered journalist Khashoggi
Saudi officials have strongly denied any involvement in his disappearance and say that he left the consulate soon after arriving. He also said Mr Pompeo would be leaving for Saudi Arabia in the next hour, adding that "we're going to leave nothing uncovered".

Reflecting global scepticism over its account, a senior Saudi government official has laid out a new version that in key respects contradicts previous explanations. They said the "hypotheses" proposed so far in the Saudi investigation need to be backed by facts to be considered credible. The Paris-based agency, however, noted that with Iran's exports likely to fall by significantly more than the 800,000 bpd so far, and the "ever-present threat of supply disruptions in Libya and a collapse in Venezuela, we can not be complacent and the market is clearly signaling its concerns that more supply might be needed".
