Authorities looking for 2 cars in missing Wisconsin girl's case

Reports said that a 911 dispatcher heard yelling. Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald has not confirmed who made the call.

She is believed to have witnessed the murders, but is not considered a suspect based on evidence recovered at the scene, police said.

During a press conference Monday, Fitzgerald said a review of video camera footage in the area determined there were two vehicles near the Closs home at the time of the incident.

Authorities said Monday that they're looking for two cars in connection with the disappearance of a Wisconsin girl whose parents were gunned down last week.

Jayme Closs has been added to the top of the FBI's Missing Persons list.

A responding officer arrived to find "the door has been kicked in", according to the log.

'I'm telling you, Jayme is missing and endangered, ' Fitzgerald said.

Volunteers and law enforcement combed the sides of United States 8 - the road where the Closs' home is located - on Thursday, looking for evidence.

All volunteers must be registered at the staging area in order to participate in the search. Officials are asking the public to come forward with any information they may have about the Closs family and to remain vigilant in watching the behavior of others, as a change in normal behavior could lead police to additional tips, according to the release. He could not be reached for comment Friday.

On HLN's "Crime & Justice" Wednesday night, Fitzgerald told host Ashleigh Banfield that additional agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, are involved.

It is thought there was a knock at the family's front door before James went to answer and was shot through the woodwork.

Jayme is described as 5 feet tall and 100 pounds, with strawberry-blond hair and green eyes. Anyone with information is asked to call the 24-hour tip line at 855-744-3879.
