The Reds boss confirmed a blow with the news that Naby Keita is expected to miss the game tomorrow afternoon after suffering a hamstring injury while away on global duty with Guinea earlier this week.

Salah and Van Dijk withdrew from their national teams over the worldwide break amid fitness concerns, but trained at Melwood on Thursday afternoon.

Mane, meanwhile, had surgery on a broken thumb picked up while playing for Senegal and Keita damaged his hamstring for Guinea - with scan results yet to be confirmed although it has been suggested he could be out for a fortnight.

However, the defender has only missed one game for Liverpool this season and since his rib injury came to light - a Carabao Cup third-round defeat to Chelsea in which both managers made eight changes to their starting lineups.

With James Milner expected to be sidelined by his own hamstring problem, Jurgen Klopp could be left short in midfield.

Huddersfield boss David Wagner celebrates his 47th birthday on Friday but Reds boss Klopp will not be giving him a gift.

That's apparently not enough to get him the nod if there's only one space up for grabs against Huddersfield-it's Shaqiri who should start, say the supporters!

Huddersfield's form is a stark contrast as they seek a first win to potentially climb out of the relegation zone.

The striker has scored four times so far, averaging a goal every 51 minutes on the pitch, and was named September Player of the Month by fans.
