Pippa Middleton gives birth to baby boy

It may not be a blue blood baby, but the birth of Pippa Middleton and James Matthew's first child has royal watchers all aflutter.

Kensington Palace confirmed the birth of the boy in a short statement this morning from her sister Kate and brother-in-law Prince William.

She gave birth to a baby boy in the same unit where Kate Middleton gave birth to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Meanwhile, The Duchess of Cambridge's sister-in-law, Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, is pregnant with her first child.

Prince Charles is first after Queen Elizabeth, followed by Prince William and his three children with wife Kate Middleton. She added, "I congratulated them on their baby and said I wished them all the happiness they deserve".

Pippa was last spotted in public at the royal wedding of Princess Eugenie to Jack Brooksbank on Friday 12th October with a blossoming baby bump.

The boy was reportedly born yesterday at 1.58pm, weighing 8lb and 9oz at the Lindo Wing in west London.

Like her sister, Pippa hasn't disclosed the sex of the baby.

Meanwhile, Eugenie and Jack are pictured holding hands and kissing in official photographs released to mark their wedding day. Princess Eugenie , 28, who holds the title of Princess of York, is ninth-in-line to the throne.

A spokeswoman for Middleton and her husband James Matthews said Tuesday that their first baby had been born the day before.

Pippa had been keeping her fans up to date about her pregnancy progress through her fitness column for Waitrose.

Spencer has always declined to speak about his brother and Pippa's pregnancy in public, pointing out they are a very private couple.
