No winning Mega Millions ticket, jackpot now $654 million

The jackpot, the third-largest in Mega Millions history, soared after no one won the big prize in Tuesday night's drawing.

The estimated jackpot for that drawing would be the fourth-largest lottery prize in USA history.

The prize has been growing for 23 consecutive drawings since July 24.

Friday's drawing was the 23rd time no one matched all six numbers. That drawing is set to be held after 10 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 13).

Those winning tickets were sold in California, Colorado, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. A victor who opted for a cash payout would receive $309 million, minus taxes. It is also one of the top ten largest jackpots in US history. There were 37 tickets that matched four white balls plus the Mega Ball on Tuesday.

The second-largest jackpot was $648 million. They agreed to split the winnings and continue working.
