Senate GOP tries to push Kavanaugh over the finish line

On Sunday, The New Yorker magazine reported that Deborah Ramirez described a 1980s, alcohol-heavy Yale dormitory party at which she said Kavanaugh exposed himself, placed his penis in her face and caused her to touch it without her consent.

"So, feels like there's a lot of game-playing that's going on right now by the majority party", said the lawyer.

"I look at the second accuser - the second accuser has nothing. She thinks maybe it could have been him, maybe not", Trump told reporters in NY.

Ford, a psychology professor at Palo Alto University in California, said in an interview published in the Washington Post last week that Kavanaugh attacked her and tried to remove her clothing while he was drunk at a party when he was 17 years old and she was 15.

Just hours later, The New Yorker dropped a new bombshell, reporting that a second woman was accusing the Washington appeals court judge of sexual misconduct, while they were students at Yale University around 1983-84.

Donald Trump is in trouble again.

How did Christine Ford not remember her "lifelong friend" in her letter?
After Grassley set a hearing for Monday, Democrats demanded a delay to allow time for the FBI to investigate Ford's claim. Kavanaugh strongly denies the allegations and has said he is eager to speak to the committee.

In the shocking tirade, POTUS told reporters, "Now a new charge comes up and she says, well it may not be him and there were gaps". Trump wrote on Twitter, denouncing Democrats for trying to destroy Kavanaugh. Kavanaugh repeated the phrase "dignity and respect" a conspicuous amount, Noah said, "like it's a vodka brand that pays him for product mentions". "It's a shame that you can do this to a person's life".

With the election looming and their control of Congress at stake, Republicans have been mindful of the pitfalls of alienating women voters by their handling of the accusations against Kavanaugh. In a Tuesday morning tweet, Avenatti said the woman would come forward only when she is ready but said he expects that to be within 36 hours.

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh made a historic appearance on national television Monday night to take on accusations of sexual assault.

According to Roll Call's Niels Lesniewski, this would allow McConnell to file cloture on Saturday, leading to a vote to limit debate on the nomination on Monday and a final vote on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Trump said mockingly, speaking of Ramirez.

Kavanaugh has also denied that allegation. The reason? Republicans feared the hearing becoming a spectacle.

Tiger Woods shares lead going into weekend at the Tour Championship
Woods's 12-under-par aggregate sees Justin Rose and a resurgent Rory McIlroy as his closest challengers. There used to be no chance against Woods when he was atop the leaderboard going into the final round.

Having the lawyer pepper Christine Blasey Ford with questions might spare the Senate Republicans who run the committee of potentially bad optics of having the all male, aging committee members conducting a televised interrogation of a woman claiming assault.

There are more challenges for Republicans.

Both Ford and Kavanaugh are expected to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

Blasey Ford's lawyers have yet to say they agree with that move or other conditions Grassley has imposed. Denying the allegations against him, he vowed that he won't be "pushed out" of the confirmation process.

"We're looking for the truth here".

Senator Susan Collins of ME. said she thinks the second accuser should be questioned by the Senate under oath....

Klopp: Salah is in form
Whether that had any influence or not Firmino walked into Melwood on the morning of the match and told Klopp he was fit to play. Finally, we scored the third goal which was very important for the team".

The young movement is "fighting an uphill path, going against centuries of accepted, ingrained bad behavior", said Kristen Houser of the National Sexual Violence Resource Center.
