Throughout the nearly two-day sentencing, the prosecution reiterated Cosby's crimes and what they call his "predatory" nature: "He violated Ms. Constand's trust, which, unbeknownst to her, he spent time and energy cultivating with the specific intent of having sexual contact with her". Prosecutors asked for five to 10 years behind bars, saying he could still pose a threat to women.

Attorney Gloria Allred, left, comforts Chelan Lasha as she speaks during a news conference, Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, in Norristown Pa., after Bill Cosby was sentenced to three-to 10-years for sexual assault.

"It is time for justice, Mr. Cosby, this has all circled back to you", Judge O'Neill said. "The day has come, the time has come".

Former model Janice Dickinson, who accused Cosby of violating her, looked at him in the courtroom and said: "Who gets the last laugh, pal?".

Cosby's lawyers have indicated that their client intends to appeal the case, which could take years. Cosby was denied bail and serves the full term, he'll be 91 when he's released.

Deputy Attorney General suggested secretly taping Trump
John McCain, who died away last month, for sinking the GOP health care bill, though he did not mention the late war hero by name. Sessions recused from that issue soon after he took office, to Trump's dismay, and Rosenstein later appointed Mueller.

On Tuesday afternoon, he was led out of court in handcuffs, stripped of his suit jacket and tie, driven to a county correctional facility, before being processed by the Pennsylvania state prison system. The judge said he is compelled under the guidelines and by a duty to the public, the Commonwealth and the defendant to sentence Cosby under the law.

His lawyers have already vowed to appeal the conviction.

Camille Cosby alleged that a tape-recording Steele played during the trial was doctored, adding that the mother of Andrea Constand, the victim Cosby was convicted of drugging and raping, "surreptitiously and illegally made the recording" in 2005 without his knowledge or consent. The publicly available registry lets neighbors and schools search for sexually violent people in their area.

In a victim impact statement read in court, Constand described the harrowing toll that Cosby's assault took, essentially ruining her chances of ever having a normal life.

Defense lawyers had argued that Cosby be sentenced to home confinement over the 2004 assault.

79 killed in Tanzania ferry capsize
The government says the passenger ferry MV Nyerere was traveling between Ukara and Bugolora on Thursday when it sank. In 2012, 145 people died when a ferry sank off the shore of Tanzania's Indian Ocean archipelago of Zanzibar.

Cosby's team also argued that the sexually violent predator status was unconstitutional, but Judge O'Neill ruled against that argument on Monday. His attorney wants the judge to send Cosby home on house arrest, saying he's too old and frail for prison. Wyatt said all three of the psychologists who testified against Cosby were "white women who make money off of accusing black men of being sexual predators". So it's taken a long time to get there.

Five of his other accusers testified against him during his trial.

Earlier in the day, O'Neill declared the former TV star a "sexually violent predator". "He robbed me of my health and vitality, my open nature and my trust in myself and others", she wrote.

The judge is expected to sentence Cosby later Tuesday. "Finally, Bill Cosby has been unmasked, and we've seen the real man as he's heading off to prison".

It's nearly impossible to overstate what a giant Bill Cosby was in the entertainment field, from his early and legendary stand-up routines through his groundbreaking role in the TV show "I Spy" through the "Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids" phenomenon to the enormously popular NBC sitcom "The Cosby Show", which was the No. 1 show in America for much of the 1980s and was lauded for its positive depiction of an upper-middle-class African-American family.
