In the wake of reports that Cavill is done playing Superman in the DC Extended Universe comes a new, tantalizing rumor: "Black Panther" and "Creed II" star Jordan is being eyed as the next Clark Kent.

Evidently responding late last night, the actor posted a video on Instagram that shows him wearing a Krypton Lifting Team t-shirt as he slowly raises an action figure of himself into and out of the frame.

As a result, reports say Warner Bros has chose to part ways the actor, who has played Kal-El in Man of Steel (2013), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017).

Philippines: 10 million people lie in path of "destructive" Typhoon Mangkhut - Philippines
Governor Manuel Mamba of the Philippines island of Cagayan said officials would start evacuating islanders on September 13. Government agencies were conducting damage assessments and beginning to clear roads, according to the Pacific Daily News .

Cavill has played Superman in three films since first being awarded the role in the blockbuster hit Man of Steel in 2013.

Warner Bros. issued a statement saying it hasn't decided on Cavill's return.

Meanwhile, rumours also suggest Ben Affleck, who is now in rehab for alcohol abuse, will not return as Superman's DC Comics sidekick, Batman, in a stand-alone film, titled The Batman.

Pushing all the weirdness of Cavill's video aside for a moment, we can explore what "exciting" in the caption might mean. On Wednesday, September 12, the same day THR claimed Cavill was "hanging up the red cape", the studio released an official but fairly ambiguous statement. Of course, Cavill could be excited about flying away from his Superman post and spreading his wings to new cinematic territory.

At the party's rally on Saturday, he strongly criticized Lofven's government for "prioritizing" the cause of asylum-seekers. But some 200,000 votes from Swedes who live overseas , which could tip the balance, were only to be counted Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Deadline is reporting that Warner Bros.' primary DC strategy involves a "Supergirl" movie, focusing on the Kryptonian character who lands on Earth when she's a teenager, which would require a substantially younger Superman than the 35-year-old Cavill. Other films on the horizon are the upcoming Shazam! with Zachary Levi, Wonder Woman 1984, due out in November 2019, and Ezra Miller in a stand-alone movie for the Flash.

Oh well, at least Cavill's future as Geralt is confirmed.

It's unlikely that Warner will be producing a new solo Superman film for several years, sources told The Hollywood Reporter.
