Waiting for Leonard in free agency is a risky game for the Lakers as seen just a few weeks ago with Paul George. I've been saying all along, I think he's going to end up a Laker but now even if the Spurs and the Lakers agree on compensation, there needs to be a third team involved to let the cap machinations work.

"The Toronto Raptors, I think they're in the driver's seat for Kawhi", Windhorst shared.

According to Bleacher Report, All-Star shooting guard DeMar DeRozan would most likely be headed to San Antonio as part of any deal for Kawhi, in addition to young assets such as OG Anunoby and Jakob Poeltl, as well as a future draft pick (s).

Raonic, the 2016 Wimbledon runner-up, was a point away from taking a commanding two-set lead. I was for the roof because we started to play under it.

There was also a relatively quick response from Leonard's camp, indicating that he has no desire to play in Toronto.

Leonard averaged 16.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game in just nine appearances after dealing with a nagging quad injury all of 2017-18. We won 59 games a year ago without Kawhi Leonard, he's better than DeMar DeRozan'.

Leonard's contract expires following next season, making him one of the biggest targets in the 2019 free-agent class.

Toronto would be able to offer Leonard a five-year, $190 million contract next summer. But while there hasn't been any significant movement on the trade front from either team in Southern California or with the Boston Celtics, one team has been making a push to acquire the two-way star.

Charania also reports that DeRozan has expressed his displeasure towards the thought of being traded for Leonard after being notified of the potential move late Tuesday night.

And that could see Toronto willing to break up the team that carried them to No 1 spot in the East previous year by sacrificing one of their two All-Star players, most likely DeMar DeRozan.
