David Davis warns United Kingdom giving away too much in Brexit talks

Environment Secretary Gove's reputation was left "in tatters" after running for the leadership against his supposed ally Boris Johnson in 2016, says The Guardian, and he has kept a relatively low profile in recent months.

Margaret Thatcher initially supported the 1975 referendum on the U.K.'s European Union membership, but a string of firings and resignations of cabinet members (sound familiar?) who favored more integration against her wishes led to her downfall.

His resignation came hours after Brexit Secretary David Davis quit the cabinet.

Mr Trump said that the United Kingdom was in "turmoil" but suggested that he might speak with Mr Johnson, who left his job with a savage letter in which suggested that the "Brexit dream was dying" and the United Kingdom was heading for the status of an European Union colony.

In his resignation letter, Mr Johnson did not back Mrs May to stay on as Prime Minister, while Mr Davis said she should.

The government now has a song to sing.

Yesterday, when Johnson was supposed to be hosting a summit on the Western Balkans, Downing Street announced he had also gone.

Indian Supreme Court orders Nirbhaya's rapists to hang
The three men - Pawan Gupta, Vinay Sharma and Mukesh Singh - had asked the Supreme Court to consider less severe punishment. AP Singh, the lawyer for the convicts told ANI , "The sentence was upheld due to public and political pressure".

Michael Creed said that while the latest resignation has not helped matters, "political instability" within the British Government has been the hallmark during its internal Brexit negotiations.

Dominic Raab was appointed the new Brexit secretary on Monday. Hunt recently won a significant increase in resources for the NHS after a stand-off with the chancellor, Philip Hammond, and is widely regarded as a potential future leadership candidate.

The slew of resignations could possibly point to members of Parliament demanding a vote of no confidence in May, even though her team is confident that their Brexit plan would pass if it gets put to a vote.

Aside from the loyalty which MPs naturally feel towards their leader, many are concerned that Mrs May's removal could plunge the party into chaos, with no obvious replacement lined up, potentially setting the scene for Jeremy Corbyn to seize power in a new general election.

Asked whether May would contest a no-confidence vote, a Downing Street source said simply: "Yes".

I think she is strengthened by all of this.

The plan agreed at May´s country retreat at Chequers would involve Britain pursuing a "UK-EU free trade area" for goods that would involve regulatory alignment with the EU.

Iran considers Europe's offer to salvage nuclear agreement insufficient
Tehran dismissed it is an orchestrated "false flag ploy", created to discredit Iran and overshadow Rouhani's trip to Europe. US-Iran relations have been hostile since the 1979 overthrow of the US-backed shah and the US embassy hostage crisis.

His late-night resignation plunged Mrs May into a fresh leadership crisis and he was swiftly followed out of the Department for Exiting the European Union by ally Steve Baker.

"Brexit should be about opportunity and hope", Johnson said in a scathing resignation letter that was echoed in headlines in a number of Britain's national newspapers.

"For the good of this country and its people, the government needs to get its act together and do it quickly and if it can't, make way for those who can", he said.

"The trouble is that I have practised the words over the weekend and I find they stick in the throat".

In response, Theresa May said she was "sorry - and a little surprised - to receive" Johnson's resignation, "after the productive discussions we had at Chequers on Friday, and the comprehensive and detailed proposal we agreed as a Cabinet". Baker was replaced by Chris Heaton-Harris, another Brexiter, who sparked controversy previous year after asking universities to supply details of their teaching on the EU.

The PM told MPs she wanted to recognise the work of the former Brexit secretary on steering through some of the "most important legislation for generations" and the "passion" that the outgoing foreign secretary had shown in promoting a "global Britain to the world".
