Trump said during his campaign that he will nominate staunchly pro-life judges who would overturn Roe v. Wade and make abortion a state-level issue. Beckwith said he hopes a court with another more originalist-leaning justice on it in the mold of previous Trump appointee Justice Neil Gorsuch would rethink that ruling and others like it. "You can't go wrong".

"They're all very conservative", Hasen said of federal judges Brett Kavanaugh, Raymond Kethledge, and Amy Coney Barrett, whose names are most often cited as being at the top of the president's list to fill the seat being vacated by Justice Anthony Kennedy.

The three leading candidates were all on a list of 25 names released by the president previous year.

Trump, who conducted interviews with seven candidates earlier this week for the lifetime post on the top US judicial body, is expected to announce his decision on Monday. He tweeted later Sunday that he was looking forward to the announcement and said an "exceptional person will be chosen!" Both Kethledge and Gorsuch once served Kennedy as law clerks, as did Kavanaugh. Add Donald Trump as an interest to stay up to date on the latest Donald Trump news, video, and analysis from ABC News. On Saturday, he tweeted that a "Big decision" was coming soon. I think that there are three distinctions that are important.

Trump club seeks to hire 61 foreign cooks, waiters
This request comes just over a year after Trump signed his " Buy American and Hire American " executive order. But the base salary for servers rose to $12.68 per hour this year from $11.88 per hour the year before.

Republican Sens. Lindsey Graham of SC and Roy Blunt of Missouri said Sunday that they believe any of the top four contenders could get confirmed by the GOP-majority Senate.

"I think that we probably have never seen an appointment process that will be as contentious as this one given the importance of Kennedy's position on the court and the increasingly polarized state of the nation", said George Washington University legal analyst Paul Schiff Berman via Skype.

In working out the timeframe, it's worth noting that the Senate will be dealing with an end of September deadline if they're going to get a nominee on the Court before Congress is scheduled to recess for the campaign and before the new Supreme Court term begins on Monday, October 1st. "There's an easy linkage for these two issues", and that, she says, will motivate swing voters and the base: women, baby boomers who don't want to lose their health benefits, and Millennials who thought reproductive rights were resolved. "And I expect we will do that on sort of a normal timetable, a couple of months".

President Trump is focusing on three prospective Supreme Court nominees, sources said Thursday, with conservatives divided on the candidates who have emerged.

Wildfire In Yolo County Expands To 70,000 Acres, More Evacuations Expected
Meanwhile, officials have issued evacuation advisories for the Berryessa Highlands, Markley Cove Resort and Pleasure Cove resort. On Monday, firefighters were working to control a wildfire in Yolo County that had grown to 44,500 acres overnight.

In response to a question about Barrett last week aboard Air Force One, Trump called her "an outstanding woman".

Outside adviser Leonard Leo, now on leave from the Federalist Society, said on ABC's "This Week" on Sunday that this kind of jockeying is standard, noting that "every potential nominee before announcement gets concerns expressed about them by people who might ultimately support them".

President Trump has spent most of this week interviewing candidates for the SCOTUS nomination. All in all, Kethledge appears to be the same kind of conventional conservative that the other people on the President's list. And their records are a little bit lighter. And for the optics-obsessed president, the timely judicial fight offers him the opportunity to do what he does best - take center stage in a massive show. That list included two contenders from Alabama - Justices Kevin Newsom and William "Bill" Pryor of Alabama, both with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11 Circuit.
