Even though both iconic football stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have bowed out of World Cup 2018, the debate over their greatness has resulted in a odd divorce case of a Russian couple.

The biggest stars of the Brazilian national team claimed victory over Mexico in the round of 16 and wound down with the nation's game of choice - Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

"I think it's more an attempt to undermine me than anything else". While he has scored twice, including one goal in brazil's Round of 16 match against Mexico, he has equally been criticised for his overacting on the ground, whenever he was tackled.

Lopetegui was sacked because he didn't tell Spain's soccer leaders he accepted an offer to coach Real Madrid after the tournament. In contrast, Russian Federation has completed the same number of passes - 1,029 - in four matches at the World Cup.

There is a big possibility that when all is said and done on July 15 the World Cup trophy could be bearing the name of a first-time champion or a champion who has not won the title in a while.

But the attractive game has also been a con game at times, with stars like Brazil's Neymar frustrating with their theatrics as well as dazzling with their individual skills.

Steen: Pressure is on both these teams for a different reason.

England may be more talented on paper but Sweden has a mojo rolling through this tournament that is hard to reconcile. Russian Federation should take its cues from Denmark when it comes to shutting down midfielders Luca Modric and Ivan Rakitic, who control the game for the Croatians when given the time and space.

According to Moscow-based newspaper Argumento I Fakti, the couple named "Arsen" and "Lyudmila" started arguing after Messi's Argentina defeated Nigeria in the group stage of the ongoing World Cup. At this late stage the logistics of it would be hard too. Aside from their lopsided 6-1 win over a weak Panamanian squad, England hasn't dominated in this tourney and could be fruit ripe for the picking by a team that nobody saw coming in Sweden.
