The Oklahoma City Thunder are growing increasingly optimistic about their chances of re-signing him.

ESPN aired Part 1 of a three-part documentary series entitled "Paul George: My Journey" on Tuesday, and in it George made it clear that he intends to opt out of the final year of his contract.

George's future has been a subject of much debate in the post-season ahead of Friday's National Basketball Association free agency deadline.

Many have assumed for years that Paul George is destined to end up with the Los Angeles Lakers, and that could very well come to fruition this summer.

Mass protests in Tehran. On the streets chanting: "Death to Khamenei!"
The protests come ahead of the renewed USA oil embargo against Iran, which could capsize the nation's fragile economy. Tehran police deployed tear gas against the protesters, but crowds are gathering around the parliament building.

"Here they have made a huge risk in trading for me, knowing I have one year on my deal", George says of the Thunder. He really likes Sam Presti the GM, Billy Donovan the coach.

George, a native of Southern California, and LeBron James are the focus of the Lakers free agent recruiting efforts.

But PG13's upcoming free agency is more than about just him. "A lot is playing into this, so it's a bit overwhelming". In this picture, George attends the 67th NBA All-Star Game: Team LeBron Vs. Team Stephen at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, on February 18, 2018.

In 79 games last season, George averaged 21.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and two steals per game in 36.6 minutes per game.

Argentina's game against Nigeria has an extra importance due to the fact that it may be Messi's last ever game at a World Cup . When Messi failed to net a penalty, the analogies were out and all the "greatness" pointed towards Ronaldo.

Despite George opting out of his deal with the Thunder, this comfort that he has developed with the franchise bodes well for a re-signing.

The Thunder traded for Anthony and George to join Russell Westbrook before last season, moves that gave them high hopes of challenging Golden State in the West.

A year ago, George was locked in on heading to L.A. Now, that is very much in doubt.
