Only Trump has courage to apply immigrant law strictly | Feedback

The Trump administration says parents who present themselves at official ports of entry along the worldwide border and seek asylum won't be prosecuted and won't be separated from their kids.

Trump's family apparently played a role in his turnaround.

But at this point Senate Democrats, who keep pointing out that Trump could fix the problem with a stroke of a pen, aren't onboard; parallel efforts in the House can't go anywhere until Republicans finish up their votes on the two broader immigration bills; and worst of all, the White House hasn't blessed any particular strategy.

As the focus on family separations at the Southern border intensifies, Speaker Paul D. Ryan declined Wednesday to say whether House Republicans would take up standalone legislation to prevent such separations at the border if their broader immigration bill addressing the issue fails.

Prior to Trump's remarks, White House aides refused to comment on rumors of an executive order and Republicans on Capitol Hill seemingly had no knowledge of a coming executive action. Trump counselor Kellyanne Conway chimed in on NBC News: "If they don't like the law, they should change it".

Problems mount for Iran at World Cup
Post the 1979 Islamic revolution, women in Iran were banned from going to stadiums to watch any male-only sporting event. Although most of the Iranian team played club football outside of the country, none competed in the major league games.

"We will not apologize for the job we do or for the job law enforcement does, for doing the job that the American people expect us to do", she said Monday.

Carlos CurbeloCarlos Luis CurbeloMeadows gets heated with Ryan on House floor Conservatives express concern over House GOP immigration bill Hoyer: GOP centrists "sold out" Dreamers MORE (R-Fla.) in April - that would have circumvented leadership and forced votes on four separate immigration proposals. "They really would like to have open borders where anybody in the world can just flow in, including the Middle East", said Trump. Under the Obama administration, such families were usually referred for civil deportation proceedings, not requiring separation.

The new policy of mandatory family separation puts the core bigotry of the Trump administration on display. She was heckled at a restaurant Tuesday evening and has faced protesters at her home.

But the executive order, a Health and Human Services official said, doesn't at all address reuniting families already separated.

Trump has at his disposal a variety of alternatives - other than separating families - that would promote his stated goal of deterring migration from Central America. The government says that only happens when immigrants can not prove family relationship or when there is evidence children have been abused.

Diego Costa gets angry in post-match interview after Spain beat Iran
Iran kept a firm head on all fronts, despite David Silva's attempted volley that sailed over the crossbar after 30 minutes. Spain: De Gea 6, Carvajal 7, Pique 6, Ramos 6, Alba 5, Iniesta 5, Busquets 6, Silva 5, Isco 7, Lucas Vazquez 5, Costa 7.

But others pushed back on the idea that Homeland Security had led the rollback. If those options are exhausted, authorities must find the "least restrictive" setting for a child who arrived without parents.

"Let's be clear: Donald Trump and the administration he runs have spent almost six weeks systematically ripping infants, toddlers, and children from the arms of asylum-seeking mothers and fathers fleeing violence and placing them in concentration camps and foster homes".

The children are classified as unaccompanied minors, a legal term generally used for children who cross the border alone and have a possible sponsor in the US willing to care for them.

In 2015, a federal judge in Los Angeles expanded the terms of the settlement, ruling that it applies to children who are caught with their parents as well as to those who come to the US alone.
