The First Lady has scrapped plans to accompany her husband at Camp David, a country retreat for the US President in Maryland.

According to a pool report, President Trump responded by pointing to a window in the White House residence, and said: "She's doing great".

First lady Melania Trump will return to the public eye Monday, co-hosting an event with President Donald Trump for Gold Star families. She was last spotted on May 10, when she joined her husband at Andrews Air Force Base to welcome home hostages from North Korea.

On May 14, the White House announced that the first lady had been sent to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to undergo an embolization procedure to treat a benign kidney condition.
