Cavs Reportedly Won't Punish Rodney Hood for Refusing to Enter Game 4

With 7:30 remaining and victory imminent, Cavs head coach Tyronn Lue called timeout and tried to insert Hood, according to Lloyd. During a timeout, several players surrounded Hood to encourage him to enter the game, but he refused.

Before the February trade deadline, the Cleveland Cavaliers traded for Rodney Hood with the hope that he could strengthen their chance of reclaiming the National Basketball Association championship title this season.

The Cavs hammered the Toronto Raptors 128-93 to complete the four-game sweep in the Eastern semifinals, and in the fourth quarter Hood declined when the coaching staff tried to send him onto the court.

After his trade to the Cavs, Hood averaged 10.8 points on 44.2 percent shooting (35.2 percent from 3), 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 21 regular-season games.

Hood started Game 1 against IN, but after the Pacers beat the Cavs by 18, Lue changed his lineup.

The biggest reason for Hood's frustration is that he's set to become a restricted free agent this summer, and his short time in Cleveland has already likely tanked much of his potential value on the market.
