Five-year veteran Tavon Austin will be packing his bags and heading east to Dallas as he officially traded by the Rams to those Boys, via Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. Rumors were flying about the Cowboys trying to acquire Earl Thomas from the Seattle Seahawks, but Jerry Jones and company made another trade that could end up being a big move for the franchise. There's now playing time available for Austin, as a wide receiving corps of Terrance Williams, Allen Hurns and Cole Beasley may be the worst in the NFL. The Cowboys have similar plans for him, and high hopes for more production than Austin had while the Rams surged to the NFC West title in the first year under McVay after 10 straight losing seasons. For his career he's averaged a running back-like 8.7 yards per catch. Los Angeles simply didn't have a place for Austin to fit in. Things may not have worked out for Austin with the Rams, but hopefully a fresh start with a new team like the Cowboys is just what the speedy wideout needs so this scenario works out well for both parties.
