Narine punishes RCB - again: Virat Kohli must get sick of watching Sunil Narine at the crease, with the Trinadian blasting a vital 50 from just 19 balls to give Kolkata the flawless platform to launch from.

Playing at home Kolkata Knight Riders registered a comprehensive four-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the third match of the Indian Premier League 2018 (IPL 2018).

Narine's blitzkrieg allowed middle-oder batsman Nitish Rana to play boldly as he produced a crucial 34 off 25 balls.

In the much-talked-about IPL players' auction, RCB have significantly strengthened their bowling and batting attack. He scored runs at a fast pace even as his captain Virat Kohli failed to get going against Sunil Narine.

However, the total wasn't enough for the Challengers as the hosts knocked down the target in 18.5 overs with four wickets remaining.

Unleashing raw power up front, Narine had his intention clear starting off with a flat-batted boundary and a slog sweep six against Chahal in the first two balls. We made a pretty good game out of it, to drag it till the 19th over and take those wickets was a big positive.

De Villiers, who is also popularly known as Mr 360 because of his ability to hit the ball anywhere on the ground, is also hopeful of winning the IPL trophy. Sunil Narine blasted 50 off 17 balls!

Johnson picked his first wicket of the match by picking up Sarfaraz Khan, who was caught by Rinku Singh at the long on.

Earlier, put to bat, RCB lost Quinton de Kock early.

McCullum was however followed by another explosive batsman AB de Villiers who went for two back to back sixes at the close of the 10th over, which was bowled Kuldeep Yadav.

With de Villiers blazing all guns at one point their run graph was looking past 200 but part-time off-spinner Rana produced twin dismissals in two balls - De Villiers and Kohli - to reduce RCB for 127/4 in 14.2 overs.
