New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman helped pursue the source of a threatening social media post, potentially helping to foil a planned school shooting in MI.

Moen instantly contacted police and authorities which led them to Port Huron, Michigan the location the user sent the threat from.

Joseph Platzer of the Port Huron Police Department said the threat was intended towards the boy's middle school. Officers also reportedly found two rifles that belonged to the boy's mother inside the home.

Per Belson, Edelman thought about the Stoneman Douglas High school shooting in Parkland, Florida in February - where Nicholas Cruz shot and killed 17 people and left another 17 injured.

The boy was taken into custody and charged with "making a false report of a threat of terrorism" which is a felony that holds up to a four-year punishment in jail.

"With the emotions of what happened, and I have a kid now, I said, holy Toledo, what is going on?" he told the Times.

The data breach may also affect customers of other catering companies that fall under Panera's commercial division. Names, and the last four digits of credit card numbers were among the information exposed in the breach.

Edelman's assistant, Shannen Moen, then called 911. "All of us, including players, are learning together to take these kinds of things very seriously". (Someone with the Instagram handle jesseyi3.) Moen has reached out to that person, but so far has received no response. Edelman said in an interview this week. "I think you should alert the authorities", the direct message to Edelman said.

Although the celebrity profile of Edelman, the Patriots' second-leading receiver in their dramatic Super Bowl LI comeback victory over the Falcons, contributed to the discovery, it was someone with the Instagram handle of jessey13 who notified Edelman of the comment via a direct message.

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is beloved in Foxborough for his efforts on the field, but he played the role of real-life hero and may have saved dozens of lives.
