Netanyahu, Erdogan Exchange Barbs Amid Ongoing Protests in Gaza

"Netanyahu! You're an occupier, and it is as an occupier that you are on those lands", Erdogan said.

"We will continue to expose Israeli terror all the time and on all platforms", Erdogan told supporters in Istanbul, describing Friday's events as an "inhumane attack". "What you are doing to those oppressed Palestinians is going to be part of history, and we won't forget it".

"The most moral army in the world", Netanyahu said of the IDF, "will not be preached to from someone who for years has indiscriminately bombed civilian populations".

In a message on his official twitter account late on Saturday, Netanyahu praised the Israeli troops for killing the Palestinians which he claimed were aimed at guarding Israel.

"I haven't heard any noteworthy opposition to Israel's massacre in Gaza from those who criticized the operation in Afrin", he said, referring to the Turkish offensive in the Kurdish zone in Syria.

"Apparently this is how they mark April 1 in Ankara", he added, in reference to April's Fools Day.
